SOKIPREYE is an emerging independent label founded by Sokipreye ‘Soki’ Membere @sokimembere in early 2022. First conceptualised in 2019; the foundations of the design process, the cuts, textiles and craftsmanship; silhouettes are methodically chosen to celebrate and include non-Eurocentric bodies in typically excluded segments and spaces within premium fashion.
The garments are designed to merge feminine expression with assertive sensuality. A collection of collectible items; brave pieces to accumulate, while curating a wardrobe to fall in love with. With nods to west African heritage, through the lens of nostalgic Black film, music and culture.
SOKIPREYE is for the “main character” woman, designed to adorn women who don’t play life safe, but boldly and unapologetically.
